Another dream climb: South Ridge, Mt. Superior, Utah.

This winter has simply been too good for words. Not only has the climbing and skiing been spectacular, but I have the most wonderful woman in the world who supports me. I love ya babe! This latest climb has been a dream of mine since I attempted and failed this route two years ago. I think the photos turned out well. A full trip report is available on my website.

Last Sunday we were hanging out with Matt's family after our LDS conference, and the sun finally come out. Someone had the idea to try out Mom and Dad's tandem bike that they got for Christmas, so we all took a try.  It was SWEET!  I want one...but thank goodness there is one next door that I can borrow anytime.  Here's Matt and I giving it a try:

The Story of the Pink Boots...

We moved back to Utah, from AZ, in December. There were no need for any kind of snow gear in AZ, but the week we got back there was snow on the ground and it just kept snowing! I think for like 2 months straight there was snow on the ground. A kids dream to say the least. One afternoon, we were heading out sledding and realized that Tanner didn't have any kind of snow boots. We thought we'd just be able to head into Gart Sports and pick up a pair. We were so wrong? EVERYTHING was sold out. We made a few calls and found a pair of blue snow boots in Tanner's size at Parks. They only had one left. I had a feeling that Matt should call back and put them on hold, but we were only like 5 minutes away, so we didn't bother. To our dismay, when we got there, a lady was at the register purchasing Tanner's blue boots. All they had left was a pair of PINK boots 2 sizes bigger than Tanner's shoe size. At that point we didn't care, we were all in our snow gear and figured that Kate would be able to wear them eventually. At least it would help Tanner build confidence, right...? Only confident boys wear pink!

He has loved his boots this winter, and I think he loves them only because they are pink, and whenever anyone sees him in them, they rave about them. We'll see if he thinks they're as cool when he's looking at the pictures a few years from now. =)

These pictures were taken like 10 days ago, on Kate's birthday!  It just isn't right for it to be snowing this much when the sun should be shining and flowers blooming (no...I'm not bitter).  But hey, at least it gave Tanner another opportunity to wear his boots.

Tanner saw a digger that was left outside which of course he had to go and rescue.  He just pulled those pink boots right over his jammies (they were 2 sizes bigger, remember) and headed out.

I just LOVE this sweet, little, constantly on the go-go, girl!

We went to the doctor today and here are her stats:

Weight - 20 lbs 12 oz (42%)

Height - 29 1/4 inches (52 %)

Head Circumference - 18.4 inches (89%)

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Kate!

It's hard to believe that our baby girl just turned 1!  It seems like yesterday that we were patiently awaiting her arrival, but at the same time it feels like she has been a part of our family forever.  What a year this has been Kate, we couldn't even begin to imagine our family without you...

I think these pictures are hilarious.  I try not to give my babies any sugar until they turn 1.  The expression on Kate's face says it all - SHE LOVED IT!!  And couldn't get enough.

Later that day, we went and had birthday cake at Matt's parents house.  Kate thought the candle was so pretty and...

...Really wanted to grab it.  Mommy helped her blow out the candles so she wouldn't burn her hand.

When Tanner got his first birthday cake, he was afraid of it, and we really had to coax him to try it out.  Kate seemed to know right off the bat that this was something yummy that she could eat.

I love her feet in this picture, as she was trying that first bite, you could see she enjoyed it all the way down to her toes!

Of course chocolate cake is quite messy, so she got a bath in Nana's sink right away.

We love you so much Kate!  You have so much spunk and charisma, which means you are constantly exploring and on the go.  I love your "conversations" of gibberish that go on for like 5 minutes.  I love the way you "reorganize" every drawer and cupboard you can get into.  I love your sweet smile and your infectious laugh.  I love the way you try to do everything your big brother does.  I love your sense of adventure, and your fearlessness to try anything.  You are truly a delight, and you make your father and I smile everyday.
