Life can be so tough!

Poor little one. Having someone wait on you hand and foot, provide you with all your meals, and make sure you're clean and happy can sure be exhausting. Maybe I'm just jealous b/c I would love to be in her shoes, kicking my feet up and taking it easy. At least one of us is getting some rest.

I love how her foot is up and her hand is over her little head. We didn't stage this, this was all her. She knows what's comfy! Too cute!

Utah here we come...

We are all so excited to be going to Utah tomorrow! Tanner can't wait to ride in an airplane, Matt can't wait to go climbing, Kate can't wait to meet all her friends, and I can't wait to close on our house!! We close on Monday! Yipee!!!

Sweet Tanner...

Tanner was so sweet with Kate today, that I had Matt take some pictures, just in case it never happens again.

Sweet kisses for a sweet girl!

Silly Tanner...

So Tanner discovered that Kate's carseat is much like a Banana Chair, and if he sits in it, he can lounge and rock back and forth. He discovered that a few weeks ago, and many times I will come out into the family room and he'll just be chillin' watching Clifford in Kate's carseat. He also has decided that he likes plating with Kate's binkies. He never used them when he was a baby, but now he thinks its so funny and has even designated one of them as "Tanner's."

Playing peek-a-boo with the sun shade.

This picture is so funny. He had just gotten out of Kate's carseat and walked over to her as if it was now his turn to try the swing. You can see him just thinking about how he is going to get her out so he can get in.

Time for a bigger bed?

Matt and I have been waiting to move Tanner to a "big-boy" bed until we move into our house. We thought it would be a good transition with having his own room and all. We also didn't want to make too many changes when Kate was born. But I think we are going to have to do it sooner.

Check out the leg reach here. He is also running out of room in his bed because of all the friends he has to have in bed with him. That and his pillow takes up a third of his porta crib. His crib would have worked much better, but it was too big to bring down here to AZ.

American Idol 2023...

He's getting ready. He even sings. So cute!

Fun in the Morning.

My favorite part of the day is the morning when Matt, Tanner, Kate and I can just hang out in bed. We obviously can't do it every morning because of other responsibilities, but when we can, we end up staying in bed laughing and playing until like 9:00 a.m. I love Kate's face in this picture, she's like, "Come on, I look silly!"

My little doll...

Kate came to chuch today for the first time, so we got her all "dolled-up." I of course had to have Matt take some pictures--thank you baby, they turned out great.

Can you believe how much she is chubbing up! She is nearly 10 pounds now, and only a month old. I love her double chin and chubby cheeks. So cute!!

I fell in love with this dress about a month before I knew that Kate was indeed a girl. As soon as I had confirmation from the sonogram, I went straight to baby gap and bought it. I was so excited that it had gone on sale that I bought it in the next size too so she could wear it all summer! (This is why Matt hopes we follow the Naegle and Jesperson trend and only have one girl, it is just too hard to control yourself).

One of the Jesperson's long time family friends, Angie, had her daughter make bows for Kate's baby gift. She sent one in about every color you could possibly think of. I love it! I don't think we've gone outside of the house with out a bow on her head since we got her gift. Thank you Angie!!

I love the littlest details. These are the most adorable shoes from Kate's Nana (Matt's mom). Thank you Mom, they finally fit snug so I'm not afriad they'll fall off and we'll loose them. She is wearing them all the time. I absolutley love them!

Here Kate is letting me know she is finished taking pictures and is ready for a nap, and about a minute later...

...she was out.

Adorable moments for a mother to capture...

These are sweet candid moments that I caught of Tanner. It is so heart warming to see how sweet and pure children are, and the desire they have to learn.

Tanner loves getting his very own magazine every month. He feels like such a big kid! He loves looking at the pictures and finding things he recognizes, like Jesus and "Prophet Hinkley."

The thing I love most about this picture is that it is completey candid. I was hiding behind a chair in our family room and only had time to take one shot before he realized he was a victim of a "mommy photoshoot." My favorite thing about this picture is him crossing his legs. He's like an old man sitting on the couch reading his newspaper.

Tanner reading the scriptures with Daddy...I will cherish these pictures forever.

Kate taking a bath...

Hey Andrea, we have the same bath chair. Don't you love these!! Thank you Holly--you got this for Tanner when he was born.

Fruit Pizza...

Alright ladies (Andrea, Ashley, Kendra, Lisa and Holly), since we haven't started our recipie blog yet, I thought I would put this on my blog to wet your whistle. (I acutally have started the blog, but haven't gotten very far. It is welovegoodfoods.blogspot.com). This was probably one of the most yummy dessert's we have had in a long time. So fresh and summer-ry with all the fruit.

It is Holly's sugar cookie recipie and the frosting is made with one 8 oz cream cheese sweetened with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, and 1/2 pint of whipping cream, whipped and sweetened. Spread it over the cooled cookie and cover with fruit of your choice.

SOOOO yummy!!

Sweet Kate...

I absolutely love the position of her hands in this picture, so I thought I would share it with all of ya'll! Kate is a hand girl. Her hands are always up by her face, and she even finds her thumb on occasion, we have a picture of her sucking her thumb just minutes after she was bron--too cute! Here, she just finished eating (you can see some milk still on her cheek), and fell asleep in my arms jus like this, with her hands up by her face. Pure satisfaction!

A day at the "Beach"

Our apartment complex here in AZ has the COOLEST pool I have ever seen, for an apartment complex anyway. Tanner loves it and asks to go to the "beach" everyday. It has a sandy beach that goes straight into the water. It is pretty shallow (just like a beach), so Tanner just brings his toys and plays in the water for hours! It is the perfect set-up for kids, I love it.

This was Tanner's Easter present. It is a little backpack that came with diggers, bulldozers, cement trucks, etc. This is Tanner's kick right now, and he thought bringing them to the beach, with his dinosaurs would be so fun. (I absolutely love this picture--my little boy with his big backpack--too cute!!)

Splish, Splash!

This picture cracks me up because it was staged at all. This is how Tanner set up all his toys to play. I love how he bent the dinosaurs necks down so they could get a drink. What a thoughtful little boy!

Oh, no! Tanner just noticed that another little boy found his beach ball. He is very concerned as you can see in the next picture as he yells...

..."Tanner's ball, Tanner's ball, no share Tanner's ball." We haven't mastered that skill yet at our house.

Kate's Grandma...

My Mom came into town for several days to help out. Here she is posing with her favorite granddaughter. (I can say that because she is the only granddaughter at this point). I wish I had some more pictures to show what a help she was to me while she was here. I could post one of her cooking, heping with the laundry, helping me run necessary errands, helping out with Tanner during the day so I could get some much needed rest, taking Tanner to the beach and to the park, and then to the beach and to the park, and then back to the park...(repeat again and again). Thank you for all your help mom, I could not have recovered as quickly without your help! And Tanner is sure wishing you were still here, I just have to keep telling him that Kate is still too little to go to the beach.
