Pet Snake...

Last night we were playing outside and Tanner caught a snake!!

To say he was excited would be a HUGE understatement. He was ready to adopt the poor thing and make him his pet.

His sister, however did NOT feel the same way. And when Tanner tried to show her how cool the snake was, she was terrified of it. Tanner could sense that, and like a normal big brother tried to put it on her head. Luckily mom was there to save her. =)

I think this sequence of pictures are so funny. You have Kate standing as far away as she can, with her hands behind her back, but close enough to see what Tanner is making such a fuss about. And then you can see her get up the courage to come get a closer look, even hold the snake! She is one brave girl. Then you have the ultimate stare down where Kate isn't quite sure what to think. Then she tries to hold it with both hands and as soon as it wiggles in her fingers, she's out of there. (the last picture is of her holding the snake out to drop it, we didn't catch her dropping it on film, unfortunately, but you get the general idea).

Tanner thought he would try to see if Daddy would be afraid of the snake. Luckily I made my point clear that he shouldn't even try to put it on mommy.

Fun times with the snake!! Luckily Tanner was very willing to put the snake back in the garden when we told him his snake family would miss him if we kept him. It sure made for a fun evening though, and Tanner is sure he'll come back to visit. =)

HE is such a big brother - putting the snake on Kate's head was so classic!
